Eighth generation of videogames
The highlight of this generation is the use of
the internet as the central axis of the functionality of the consoles, this
turned into communication centers bringing together in a single device the
functions of gaming system and bazaar selling movies, TV series and other
content from the console itself.
The eighth generation begins with the launch
of Nintendo 3DS, on February 25, 2011, followed later by Sony PlayStation Vita,
which was released on December 17 of the same year and the revision of the
previous Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL . Officially the eighth generation of
consoles started on November 18, 2012 when Nintendo released Wii U because this
is the first console of the eighth generation of desktop.
